God's Gonna Strike You Down

While shooting the lightning Saturday night at the Elvis Memorial Chapel we found ourselves stuck in the storm with no escape. Luckily we were able to take cover and let the storm blow over. It was quite intense being surrounded by lightning (and immediate thunder) in all directions. I don't think I've witnessed a storm like this since I was a kid. I hope you enjoy....

Let There Be Light

At around 8:30 Saturday night I checked the storm radar and noticed that some storm activity should arrive at 10PM. I then checked my phone & it stated that there was lightning 13 miles away so I quickly loaded up my gear and drove like a mad man to my spot over looking Peralta Trail. I squeezed off a few shots and thought to myself "this lightning seems mighty close AND bright". It was then that I again checked my phone & realized that it was less than 0.3 miles away. Needless to say I fired off another shot or two & hightailed it off the mountain. Sharing is encouraged & much appreciated. Prints are also always available for purchase. I hope you enjoy......
