"There Won't Be Another Now"

I headed out very early in the evening to find a good location to shoot sunset. I assumed that this popular location to photographers would be somewhat crowded but as the sun made it's descent I found that I still had the entire shore to myself. It's in moments such as this that I thank the good Lord for the gift of vision and for the opportunity to practice the craft of photography. I hope you enjoy.......

"Bonsai Sunset"

As the sun begins to set at Bonsai Rock in Lake Tahoe the rocks cast off an orange glow as the hint of a reflection makes itself visible. I'm also particularly fond of the clear water with a slight tint of an emerald hue. Spending nearly four hours at this location waiting for the perfect light is definitely time well wasted. I hope you enjoy......

The smoke from a distant forest fire adds a bit of color to the horizon of this view of Donner Lake as the sun begins it's descent. If you look closely, you can see a rock climber scaling the cliff which I chose to leave in the image to show a sense of scale.

"Touching the Void"

I was blessed with the opportunity to get out & photograph the sights in Lake Tahoe after a winter storm dumped a blanket of snow in the area. Although it was slightly treacherous getting here I was equally blessed to find some unblemished snow. Shown here is a small section of the upper level of Eagle Falls that overlooks Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe.

Whether I'm working in it or simply sitting in it with camera at the ready, waiting rather impatiently for it to pass I do from time to time curse the rain. This year however, the rain & snow has been a blessing to Lake Tahoe. When I first visited the area last year the Lake appeared to be critically low. Although water levels are still low, I have read reports stating that water levels at Lake Tahoe has risen to near full capacity.

Fortunately my determination on this particular evening far outweighed my motivation. All of us have moments when we'd much rather do absolutely nothing but chill out. I've found that when there's something I don't want to do, that's the one thing I really should be doing. After all, greatness was never achieved by sitting on the couch

"Sunset at the Harbor"

This was a plan B location for shooting sunset on this cold evening. Although another storm was covering the North Lake area, I was blessed with the slightest opening in the clouds just above the horizon. I hope you enjoy.....

"Storn On the Water"

A pretty good sized storm making it's way across Lake Tahoe. Although it was late May, this storm brought snow rather than rain.

I have fallen in love with Lake Tahoe...... The vibrant sunsets, snow capped mountains, pine trees, and the sound of waves crashing.... What's not to love?
